PLOVDIV HISTORY AND SITES

Plovdiv is officially considered the oldest existing town in Europe with a hisotry dating back as early as the 4th millenium BC. It has preserved heritage from Thracians, Romans, Ottomans and Bulgarians. Nowadays it is the second biggest town in Bulgaria and one of the most popular day trips from Sofia.
