Enjoy a great day trip from Sofia for an amazing rafting experience at the Struma River, combined with a visit of the most popular Bulgarian monastery – the Rila Monastery, UNESCO heritage site!
Struma river is the most popular area for rafting in Bulgaria, with the longest track: between 8 and 12 kilometers, which is suitable for everyone: from beginners to already more experienced rafters.
The rafting is done with highly professional local stuff and under complete safety measures, so it is suitable for everyone and no previous experience is needed!
The departure from Sofia is at 8am from your hotel. To the Struma River, you will have about 2 hours travelling on a highway. When you arrive there, you will be given the additional necessary safety equipment and you will be taken to the rafting area! The rafting itself continues about 2 hours, and once again – there are traces with different difficulties, so it will be up to you which option to choose. Always, there will be a local instructor in your boat during the rafting!
In the end, after you finish this amazing and emotional experience, you will have time for a deserved lunch break in some of the restaurants in the area.
After that, you will continue to the Rila Monastery, about one hour drive. It is one of the most popular places to visit, a UNESCO heritage site. At the monastery, you will have one hour to explore it. We will provide you with a free application with audio files for smartphone, which you can use there to learn about its history and most famous spots. Please have in mind that you will need internet connection and headphones, in order to use it.
At about 5pm you will depart back and at about 7pm you will be back in Sofia, after a day full of memories!
The tour can be done during the weekends, if you are 1-3 people. If you are 4+ people, the tour can be done any day – in such case if you want to book it during Monday – Friday, please contact us by email.
